NextArts Announces Senator Dianne Feinstein as Honorary Inaugural Chair of San Francisco Simulcast

NextArts is pleased to announce Senator Dianne Feinstein as the Honorary Chair of San Francisco's simulcast of President (elect) Barack Obama's Inaugural Ceremony.

The Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies announced the theme for the 2009 presidential inaugural. "A New Birth of American Freedom," to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln's birth. These words come from the Gettysburg address.

Senator Dianne Feinstein, Chairman of the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies (JCCIC) said "At a time when our country faces major challenges at home and abroad, it is appropriate to revisit the words of President Lincoln, who strived to bring the nation together by appealing to 'the better angels of our nature'."

The San Francisco inaugural simulcast will occur outdoors rain or shine, just as in Washington, D.C. We call on all municipalities within our great nation to present this event at their place of governance.
