MEDIA ADVISORY: NextArts Requests All Media Outlets Announce Sock and Underwear Collection

With less than 24 hours before the Inaugural simulcast, NextArts requests the media remind attendees to please bring socks and underwear for the homeless. Items collected (new, tag still attached) will be given to a homeless program within the City and County of San Francisco.

The San Francisco inaugural simulcast will occur outdoors rain or shine, just as in Washington, D.C. We call on all municipalities within our great nation to present this event at their place of governance.

About NextArts:
NextArts produces concerts in public spaces throughout San Francisco. We are a social enterprise that provides special event production services as a means to raise funds to support our concert series. In 2005, we began asking attendees to bring (new) unused items, with tag still attached for collection and redistribution to worthy charities instead of charging admission. So far we have collected over 3,200 pairs of new socks and underwear and over 2,400 units of school supplies at our concerts. All new, all with tags still attached.

Please, visit www.NextArts.org for more details.

Media Inquiries: Francis Key (415) 970-9005.
